One of the more challenging aspects of life in the future is living without most land based animal species that once inhabited much of the planet. The Robot Petting Zoo is being developed to provide people with fully immersive, simulated animal interactions. Incorporating Relaxotron technology, a multi-user Auditory Feedback Isolation Kit (AFAIK), this exhibition allows participants to hear life-like animal sounds as if they were in a natural setting. As a continuation of our successful Human Robot Interface (HRI) and Stress Indicator Reduction Implementation (SIRI) and previous Auditory installations of The Relaxotron we are presently expanding our researches in two directions: Tactile Feedback/Reinforcement/HMI and Auditory upgrades. These upgrades and the fact that The Robot Petting Zoo is set up to be mobile will maximize the number of people who can benefit from the experience.
